A.G. candidate: Ohio legal contracts should be bid

A fairer, more open process is needed to pick outside lawyers who do work for the state to rid the system of political influence, Republican Attorney General candidate Mike Crites said Thursday.
Crites, a former U.S. Attorney for southern Ohio, said if elected he would set up a system that subjects such special counsel contracts to a competitive bid process.
