Nancy Hardin Rogers, dean of Ohio State University's Moritz College of Law, has been named interim Ohio attorney general by Gov. Ted Strickland. She will serve until voters on Nov. 4 choose a successor to Marc Dann, who resigned May 14. ... Rogers spoke of turning around the image of the office, adding, “It's a shame that the actions of limited number of persons who didn't live up to these values have undermined public confidence in this office. The situation must be turned around quickly. Gov. Strickland has honored me with his confidence.” ... Dann resigned the day the inspector general raided his office in a probe, authorized the day before by special legislation, of sexual harassment, questionable hirings, cover-ups and a variety of other misdeeds. The resignation also came the day after House Democrats initiated impeachment proceedings against him.
